Preserve the past as you go.

It’s best to try to take an extra moment to document the special elements that are the symbols & artifacts that make up your family’s heritage and culture.  For example, take a photo of your grandmother’s favorite string of pearls, or a great uncle’s time piece, a worn & treasured family bible, a military medal, handwritten letters or a whimsical carving. Be sure to take a photo of the artifact in their natural environment, on the shelf, or on a special piece of fabric, or home-place locale. These keepsakes are time capsules, and represent your family’s living mementos to be cherished and remembered. They are wonderful additions to include in your film story, thus creating a truly unique aspect of your film.
